Some organisims in our planet can reproduce asexually as well as sexually like certain types of trees and pond snails. Also, some creatures care for their young like birds, some reptiles, and mammals like us for example. As for the picture, it's very cute. Well Done!
Prowl: Welcome, my son Baby clone of Prowl: Daddy...
Awwwwwwwwwww! Baby Prowl is SO GORGEOUS! But he's gonna cry! Nooo! The little hand on big Prowl's nose is so fraggin' cute! Baby Prowl is so tiny! Is he crying because there's a camera in front of him or what? Oh, maybe he dropped his lollipop! Quick! Regular-sized Prowl! Get him a new one! Totally Faved!
It's possible Transformers have a version of reproduction that's a mix of both. Kinda like what you get if you crossed a toaster, a cell and somethings that spreads DNA via ova/sperm.
In some of the Japanese TF comics it's suggested they can reproduce something akin to 'sexually'. They split like cells in the G2 comics by Marvel and probably don't need partners. In Beast Wars/Beasties they can merge sparks. In my own Tf fan fic they're capable of splitting without the need of a mate but to get the different body types they have to interface via spark merging.
Oh God, my head just popped. >.< And I'm leaving out other universes like Shattered Glass.
